Built by Sultan Bayezid II in 1508, Çeşme Castle, with its six bastions and moat system, is a striking historical and architectural sight. The castle has an archaeological museum with a wide array of historical artifacts that have been discovered in the region. These include 320 archaeological objects, 126 ethnographic items, 31 ancient coins, which tallies up to 477 displayed artefacts. Çeşme Castle is also a cultural hub, as it plays host to festivals from the area, such as the Çeşme International Music Festival.
